Getting to Isla Holbox used to be very difficult, but the new toll road has made getting from the airport to Chiquila a very quick proposition.
After your flight into Cancun, we can have a driver pick you up and take you on the 1.5-2 hour trip to Chiquila. Costs for this transfer range from $150 to $250 each way depending on the size of your party. We use Nancy Sanchez at Holbox Tarpon

From Chiquila it is only a 20 minute ferry ride across the lagoon to Holbox.
There are two ferry operators, Nueve Hermanos and Express Ferry. They are comparable in every way and we suggest hopping on the next available. Schedules are posted and they generally run every half hour.
Finally, Aerosaab Cancun offers a 20 minute flight from the FOB area of the Cancun airport. It runs about $700 each way for a Cessna 172 type plane so it's pricey, but may be worthwhile to fish the morning and catch an afternoon flight rather than wasting a day.
Darwin will pick you up at the ferry terminal and take you and your luggage to your hotel.
All told from Miami, Houston, San Antonio, or Austin to Holbox is about a five to six hour trip. Southwest Airlines is now flying direct to Cancun from San Antonio and Austin and is very convenient.
